STatIc is the first version of a spreadsheet designed by S.T.I. which allows the dimensioning and verification of beams and generic sections according to the most recurrent static schemes of the construction technique.
In particular, the following models were considered:
- Beam supported at the 2 ends with concentrated force + distributed load
- Beam supported at 2 ends with 2 concentrated forces + distributed load
- Cantilever beam with concentrated load in free end + distributed load
- Generic sections subjected to shear and / or traction stress
For the beam models, the resistance checks are processed according to the Von Mises criterion and the stiffness tests with the calculation of the deflection.
Why use STatIc?
Often the professional is faced with the need to preliminary check beams or generic elements according to the classical schemes of the Science of Constructions.
Although the relationships are simple and well known, it can take a long time to optimize the profiles to be used, having to check various sections with the probability of making calculation errors.
