Why use ProClas?
It is quick and intuitive, allowing you to calculate:
- geometric and inertial properties of the starting profile (area, static moment, barycentre, moment of inertia and resistant moment);
- Effective geometric and inertial properties (effective area, effective static moment, effective section centre of gravity, effective moment of inertia and effective resistant moment).

Description
ProClas 1.0 is the first version of a calculating programme developed by S.T.I. for the classification and analysis of cold-formed thin-walled profiles.
The technical standards for construction classify the profiles according to four classes, class 1, 2, 3 and 4. In order to determine the bending, shear or normal resistance of the profiles in class 4, it is necessary to take into account the phenomena of local instability, therefore it is necessary to reduce the resistance of these profiles using, for the calculation, not the effective geometric section but the effective geometric section.
